It remains a very small town, with an estimated population of just over 1,270 in 2017, according to the US Census Bureau. The entire city has been designated a National Historic Landmark. Imagine an entire city on the National Historic Register. Deadwood is a living showcase to history! All trails start in Deadwood and is a gateway to over 300 miles of the finest groomed snowmobile trails in the nation. The prestigious Mickelson Bike trail is a 110-mile spin through the Black Hills right in Deadwood.
